3/4 Oct 2009
My return to Cork for the second
instalment of the Tung's lectures
with the brilliant Henry, was just as fulfilling as my last trip. This
time I have even more tools to treat an even wider range of conditions
with these simple methods, still using a minimal number of needles.
Further study on the clinical use of
bloodletting, although not as dramatic as it sounds can offer clients
rapid relief from even some of the most chronic complaints from
allergies, to headaches, backpain, sciatica, skin conditions to high
blood pressure. This method uses a lancet to draw just one or two tiny
drops of blood, to bring systemic improvement in a wide range of
conditions. It is mainly used in conjunction with acupuncture, for an
even more powerful treatment.
12/13th Sept
Trip to Dublin for an intensive two day
seminar with one of the greatest living Classical Chinese acupuncturists
Master Jeffrey Yuen. (more to
come)
22nd April
I visited Cork in Ireland for a two-day intensive seminar with Dr.Henry
Mcann
for a mind-blowing couple of days
learning the once-secret acupuncture methods of the Tung family.
The methods include unique points and techniques which yield incredibly
fast results especially with acute injury or illness, in fact you could
normally expect an improvement within a minute or two if dealing with a
painful condition. These methods are also almost exclusively using
distal points which means the needles go no-where near the area of pain,
for example; for right ankle pain from a fall you might expect to have
just 3 or 4 tiny needles placed in the left hand, with gentle movement
to stimulate the effected area.
The results I see on a daily basis with
these methods never cease to amaze me, and I cannot wait for the second
stage in October where even more secrets will be divulged!! 7/8th March
I began my Daoist training with
the Universal Healing Tao down in London.
This was an amazing weekend spent meditating, learning Qi Gong/Tai Chi
and generally learning practices to increase my energy and recycle
negative emotions. I now practice almost daily, and these practices have
become a big influence in my life and have allowed me to share my extra
energy with my clients
through my work, conversation and advice.
I particularly enjoyed exploring the spiritual aspects of Daosim, which
is the philosophy from which acupuncture and Chinese Medicine were
eventually borne. Originally the Daoists were teachers who taught people
how to live in harmony with the environment and with their own path in
life, without ill health and without medicines and potions. I'm very
much looking forwards to Step 2 in December.
28th Feb this year
I took part in a 2-day intensive seminar
on Advanced Spinal Acupuncture
which
is an effective Acupuncture Therapy which uses the central nervous
system to treat the whole body, it can be used in two different ways.
When needles are inserted in reducing direction they have an inhibiting
effect on the nervous system which utilises its connections through the
deep and superficial nerves, and the activation of an immune system
response to the invasion of the body by needles. This has the effect of
promoting phagocytes to reduce inflammation and nerve inhibition to ease
hypersensitivity, pain and muscular spasm and ache.
When needles are inserted in the reinforcing direction they produce a
strengthening effect on the nerves, increasing muscle tone, promoting
blood circulation and warming the extremities. This nerve inducement
also activates and strengthens the functioning of the internal and
hollow organs and body resistance.
